Ride to Remember - Victorian Police Blue Ribbon Foundation

Just three bikes with two pillions, Faye & Chris Dyball, Betty & Doug Lutz and myself headed off from McDonalds Frankston early (6.30am) on Australia Day for the Ride to Remember.  We met up with approx 450 other riders in Pit Lane at the  Albert Park Circuit.  At 8.00am we headed off for a leisurely ride to the Upper Yarra Dam where lunch and entertainment were provided.

For those who aren't aware the money raised is donated for emergency, trauma and intensive care facilities at our public hospitals which is one place I hope none of us have to use.   Mick Ferran

The Genoa Trip

Well it's happened again, some of the club went to Genoa for the Australia Day weekend and created havoc. Very interesting ride for a number of reasons. Firstly we had two ''virgin'' Genoas with us. Secondly we had about four different ride leaders, and I've lost count how many ''Tailend Charlies''. The reason for mentioning the Tailenders is that Don Clarke and Trevor Roberts had a stint at it and did a wonderful bloody job. On the Saturday a pleasant ride to Merimbula to visit some of my friends that have done a ''Seachange'' up there, I think the tone of the neighbourhood was lowered drastically when 15 ''Bikers'' turned up but we were made to feel welcome anyway. On Sunday Trevor had his go at Tailending when we went to a God forsaken town called Bombala. Now for the ill-informed Bombala could be on the way to just about anywhere, but if you're looking for some excitement or something interesting to eat this ain't the place, especially on a Sunday. The other reason that it was good Trevor was Tailender was 'cos some of us were out playing with our throttles and someone forgot to fill up his tank at Bombala. BUT at least Wolfgang now knows how far he can go on his new bike before it runs out [not a nice feeling was it mate]. Now as we all know that what goes on on the rides stays on the ride, having said that I think our two ''virgin weekenders'' had a ball, just ask them. Misdemeanors during the weekend were "fined" at Dinner each evening; raising a total of $73-00, which was unanimously donated to Breast Cancer..... in recognition of Glen Abery's latest battle. Gary spent some time looking at vehicles for his son but as of yet to no avail. The journey home was interesting to say the least. Now this is where Don Clarke had a go at the rear and once again he also excelled at his position which considering it was a long weekend and schools will be back very soon there was a mountain of cars with caravans, boats and any thing else you can tow behind a car, [thanks Don].15 of us went on this jaunt and 15 of us had a great time maybe some of you should try it just like Don and Wolfgang did. All arrived safely home albeit a wee bit knackered and sore we still had a great time...see ya soon Alan [pres]
