Hazelwood Car & Bike show. Reserve & I had a great days riding with the Two Bays group today. Starting out with a 9.00am coffee at our meeting spot Del Bake in Baxter. 9.30am (prompt) we were marshalled and told of the ride route that Chris had in mind. Bob volunteered to be the tail gunner for the day. We set out with sunny skies, but a slight chill in the air. We proceeded to our 1st stop at Korumburra via lots of twisties. By the time we stopped my hand was quite numb from the cold (or was I just holding on too tight around those bends) So we warmed up with coffee and doughnuts at the Cafe. We proceeded suitably refreshed along more twists and turns through Mirboo and Boolarra (what's with the name Boo?) arriving at our destination around 12.30pm. The Car and bike show was very well organised for a small show, but very worth the visit. (see Pics) I thought being this far out of Melbourne I would see a few Kangaroos, but alas it was not to be. I did meet up with lots of potholes in the road though, when you ride 2 up it always seems to be more painful. Maybe they need to pay more taxes in Country Victoria and fix up those roads! After a sausage sizzle, around 2.00pm we gathered and set out on our way home. We took a more direct route out of Hazelwood and ventured onto the M1. Dodging the floorboard that someone had left in the outside lane, after a car had ran over it sending pieces all over the place. We took the M1 all the way down to Yarragon, for a stretch of the legs and a gas fill up for those with smaller tanks. We headed out from Yarragon, via lots more country roads, lots of twists and turns, with our ride leader Chris getting us safely to Tooradin in time for an ice cream before we all said our fond farewells. As a new member of the group and still learning everyone's names, I would like to thank Bruce and Bruce and Bruce, Ha,Ha,Ha Only kidding! Seriously though, please thank the guys that plan the rides, because with out their hard work and planning it would not be as much fun. Thanks to all of the Honda riders for letting my Suzuki ride along, and extra special thanks to my wife for buying the bike. Many regards English Al.
