MT Macedon Ride Report 7th November 2010
We followed the usual route of Princes/Hume Highways, with a break for morning coffee at the servo just beyond Calder Park, until we turned off for the summit of Mount Macedon. It was, as usual, an impressive view and all Ulysses members from the various Victorian clubs gathered beneath the cross whilst the list of those members who have passed on was read out. A minutes’ silence was then observed not only for them but for all Australian and allied service personnel that have died defending us in the numerous conflicts over the years. For our part we remembered, in particular, both Bill & Aub, sad losses for their families as well as our Club. After lunch in Gisborne, not an easy place to park, the ride home via Toolern Vale and Diggers Rest was uneventful and despite predictions to the contrary we managed to arrive home prior to the weather breaking.
