Twelve bikes/riders and two pillions gathered at Baxter Shops at 9-30 am on a fine, but cool Sunday morning. After a nice hot Cappuccino we were soon led off by president Alan on what was to become a really great ride. On through Tooradin, Lang Lang, and on To Drouin South, where we headed south to Korumburra for morning break. Then off to Leongatha and the "Baron's Loop ride" in reverse to Dumbalk, then north to Mirboo Norh for Lunch, companionship and chat.

Immediately after lunch our erstwhile leader sprung a surprise and took us to the local CFA Depot, where we were then led by two CFA Trucks and crew to a mock rescue involving an overturned car in which the driver was trapped and a tree branch had pierced his torso. With great skill and expertise, the CFA crew (all volunteers) using state-of-the-art "jaws of life" equipment soon had the vehicle stabilised and the "patient" rescued to a waiting ambulance. The whole experience was a raw awakening to the perils of cars (and bikes) on our roads and also the fantastic work done by these unpaid CFA volunteers.

After appropriate appreciations we all teamed together to eventually turn our bikes around on a steep dirt track where the "rescue" had occurred, and set off at a sensibly paced, safe and comfortable ride home, all arriving back in Baxter at 4-30 pm.

Thanks to Ride Leader - President Alan on an outstanding ride where corner marking worked perfectly and all riders, new and experienced, could enjoy the pleasure of safe club riding.
