Monday 17-5-2010 members of Two Bays met at the Baxter Coffee Shop to drive out to LOEL THOMSON'S Costume Lace & Jewellery in Bulleen. This was organized by Norma Ibbott. The day was fine but overcast as we all headed off with Chris Barton leading. Inside the building which is fitted out with beautiful furniture and other artifacts of years before we were meet by Loel who came and spoke to us all and then invited us up stairs for another talk explaining just what the museum was all about and what she did, and how she had to work everything out, which was very interesting, Then we all went into a big room to view the clothing and things from the 1800's onwards, which are beautifully set out, and it didn't matter if it was male or female every one was amazed. After viewing this for quite a long time the men went down stairs to the rooms of Motor Bikes and Cars Of Brian's and a very nice collection he has, even the ladies came down and were very surprised at the Bikes and Cars. From there we all went to the Manningham Hotel
which was the Sentimental Bloke until it was refurbished some 10 years
ago. We had our lunch there, and a get together, from there we drove
back to Baxter.
