Wilsons Prom 25/7/10 ride report

Alan L, Peter B, Ron O, Brian B and Gerard (the tail-ender) and the undersigned or collectively 'The Famous Few' - I've heard people call out something with 'F' and I'm sure it must be that - plus a newbie (Paul) gathered in bright sunshine at Baxter for my inaugural trip as 'ride-leader' to Wilsons Prom. Ron introduced yet another ST into the Club, the only silver '10 model in Oz (probably) which produced a long heartfelt groan from Brian but smiles from the other Honda owners.
It was a very straightforward route and well signposted, to avoid any unintentional detours to Adelaide, down the SG Highway to Leongatha for morning coffee, we left there at precisely 11:05 (for Kevin's benefit) to the Prom via Meeniyan and Fish Creek. As to be expected the views were stunning and as a bonus we saw a couple of emu. On the return leg Alan lead us via the Baron's Loop, once thought to be a surgical procedure I now discovered it's the road Meeniyan/Dumbalk/Leongatha an excellent piece of twisties which enlivened the group. Then back on the SG with quick detour via Nyora to alleviate the boredom and home to Baxter. An unadventurous first ride but thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. Thanks to all my compadres.
