To keep every one up to date on the weekend that has just gone and to let every one know that doesn’t bother to join us on these fun events it has been left to me to do the Ride Report.

The event has become known as the Otway’s Flyer weekend which will become apparent has we go further into the story.

Twenty odd bodies assembled at Baxter all filled with excitement and in trepidation for a couple of days that was to hold who knows what.

Winding our way along Beach rd and over the Westgate Bridge to the Geelong saw all the hard work out the way now we can sit back and enjoy this wonderful country that we all call home [could put that line in a song]. Various small breaks were taken along the way to give the ‘shutter bugs; some time to play till we finally arrived at Apollo Bay for some food and wee wee break. It is at this point that things get a bit vague but some how we wondered up to Lavers Hill for an ice cream it’s at this point when Peter informed us all it was only another 30kms at which bought forth a comment from Colin that he was under the impression we were in Perth same direction just a liiittle bit further on.

Having all arrived safely some us that had travelled without our partners did the right thing and turned on our mobile phones and guess what…no coverage I thought that Next G or what ever it’s called was fixing this..

While the BBQ burst into life we had a visit from some of the Otway Ranges members and we all sat done to a lot of fun and frolicking about way into the wee hours of the morning. It is at this stage someone realized that there was only four members still ‘’standing’’ it also at this point in the night that the said four people did set about righting all the problems of the world which was easy so we went on and sorted the universe only to be asked next day what the problems were and none of us could remember but having said that it was still a great time thank you Liz, Mick and Caron for your input [little as was].

Sunday morning arrived as it always does after a Saturday and after more food [breakfast] all riders mounted their trusty steeds [bikes, for the less educated] and off we set to our next destination which was all of 10kms up the road. It is here that we arrived at the ….’Otway Flyer’ to those who don’t know the Flyer is a man made and woman made structure that spans the treetops of the forest and absolute must to visit if you are in the area. Those that have done it before elected to either go to the Triplet Falls another must if you’re in the area. There is a certain member that certainly will remember her trip to the Flyer as she was walking along the track looking up at trees as one would she step on a snake be it only a little one none the less it was alive luckily for Ann it took off at a great rate of knots. Margot was shown the Falls by Gary and both people were delighted with their experience. Lunch was had at Lorne along with the rest of the world that had descended on this ‘sleepy’ little town. The ferry was very well planned just enough time to load the bikes and people on after meeting Peters mum again. Goodbyes were said at Sorrento and all the weary travellers went home

Thanks to Peter Baulch for organizing the whole weekend.

Also thanks to everyone that made the time most enjoyable and as I’ve said before if you haven’t tried one of these weekends away get off you butts and give it ago you won’t be sorry …..Alan

Good to see some know their place in life!

Someone was working hard!!

Someone had a late night!!
