Peninsula  Toy  Run

 

We all went to the Frankston Pier car park early Saturday morning for our Yearly Toy Run, organized by John Smollen.  It was good to see so many members from Two Bays Branch, seeing we had our Christmas breakup the night before.

As always, it was very well organized. And all the bikes had some sort of Christmas decoration. Yours Truly was dressed up as Father Christmas once again, which was a pain in the neck, because during the ride my beard was blowing into my eyes and it was hard to see where I was going.

We first went to Mornington, and stopped for a short break. Then off to Dromana for another short break and then to Rosebud where we handed in our toys etc…

As always, there was plenty of food and coffee and tea, provided by the organizers. After a few speeches there were a few Branches donating a cheques to Food For All. I presented our cheque for $250.00 on behalf of the Two Bays Branch.

I think that all the needy people in the Peninsula will have a good Christmas, thanks to the generosity from all the Ulysses Members.  

On the way up I met a couple from the Yarra Rangers Branch, Bruce, Helen, and their daughter Loran. Apparently Bruce was the Ride Leader that day when Mark and I had the accident, and they helped taking the bike of me. So it was great that I could thank him personally, and invited them over for a coffee at the Jetty Café.

I was good to see that Gary has got his bike back at last. That took over 4 month to fix, after his accident the 23^rd off July.

I want to Congratulate John Smollen on a job well done.
