Twilight Ride

Around 4pm on Saturday afternoon we (all 29 of us) headed off on our first Twilight ride led by Peter Baulch, there must have been around 21 bikes, some first time riders with our club, even a couple from a Melbourne branch. I found it very relaxing just sitting pillion and enjoying the scenery in fine-warm conditions, as we made our way through the Gippsland hills to Korumburra via Poowong for a break to stretch our legs and have a drink. We then continued on to the Tarwin Lower Pub via the fantastic Outrim scenic road. We all enjoyed a good meal and a many laughs, and eventually we set off for home after sunset and it was quite a sight to see the line of taillights along the road ahead of us. We had a fuel stop in Inverloch and then a very steady ride back along the Bass Highway with another break at Grantville arriving back at Baxter around 10pm for a coffee and to say goodbye on what was a ride with a difference. Not just speaking for myself, I think everyone really enjoyed this unique ride. Well done Peter. Where is the next Twilight ride to?... Pat Hipworth
