Friday night at the R.S.L in Frankston the 4-12-09 where approximately 60 members met to celebrate the Two Bays Christmas Brake Up. Arriving early to set every thing up for the evening was Betty Malie and our President Tiny. Dennis Rea who was to perform and play the music for the evening was also there to set up and have every thing just right. Members started arriving around 7 PM, and before long the room was a buzz with everyone greeting one another. The room was very nicely dressed up with Christmas decorations with little Christmas Trees on the tables. The Evening started with soup, which was followed by the main course, and a little later the desert’ all of which were very nice and well presented, with the R.S.L staff doing a great job. Dennis was playing music and singing to the music which was great and seemed to be to every ones taste as most of the members applauded and clapped to let him know of there appreciation. Next was the drawing of the Door Prize, this was drawn out by Dennis, and won by Marion and Kevin. After some more music and a few dancing it was time to draw the numbers out for some of the Prizes, which Betty had wrapped some up in Christmas Paper and Malie had given her a hand with the Baskets of goodies. The first prize drawn, was won by Trevor Roberts; who was delighted, picking out an ornament of a Pig Riding a Motorbike; and it was great to see him so thrilled with it. There were eight prizes drawn, four at that time, and another four a little time after. In between the drawing of the prizes the music was played with a few of the members enjoying themselves dancing and having a good time. After a short time it was announced that Tiny and Mark had something else to announce, this turned out to be some awards, to a number of the members, who had in some way, done some thing, which was outstanding in the way of helping members of the Two Bars Ulysses Club, and for showing just what a true Ulyssesian they are. Tiny also handed out Christmas Cards to everyone, and announced some of the members Birthdays and every body sang happy birthday to them. The Christmas Brake Up was a great and wonderful night and enjoyed by every one. I will take this opportunity to wish each and every one a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy and Safe New Year from Betty and myself (Doug)
